The biggest challenge all filmmakers face is funding. So we thought if the festival is to achieve its long term goal of creating new filmmakers in the Tees Valley then we need to offer the beginnings of a solution to that challenge. TVIFF Scholarship was born.
The TVIFF Scholarship will give £3000 to a person or group to make a short film that will then receive a glittering premiere at next year's festival. The winner will be announced on the final night of the festival and receive an award at our star studded Closing Ceremony. They will then have a year to make their film with full creative freedom.
On top of this, British film and TV acting legend Stephen Tompkinson has agreed to star in the winning film (at no cost to the winner) and we will also provide a £500 voucher for industry leading camera kit and services provider Focus Canning. We can also assist with casting and staffing of the project, and provide an award winning mentor if you wish.
To apply for the TVIFF Scholarship, please send us your script, pitch deck and breakdown of how the £3000 will be spent, using the form on this page. Four finalists will be selected and invited to an interview that will take place during the first three days of the festival.
The winner will be announced on the final night of the festival and receive an award from Stephen Tompkinson live on stage at ARC Stockton. It's free of charge to enter. Here are the terms of entry
